Wilson co-sponsors bill to rename street after Chinese doc who blew the whistle on China and COVID-1

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Joe Wilson released the following statement on co-sponsoring legislation to rename the street outside the Chinese embassy in Washington:

“I am grateful to Congresswoman Liz Cheney for introducing legislation to rename the street outside the Chinese embassy in Washington, D.C. ‘Li Wenliang Plaza.’ This bill honors the late Dr. Li Wenliang, the Wuhan-based doctor who cautioned the world about the coronavirus before the Chinese Communist Party silenced him, resulting in death and economic devastation.

“I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Li and other medical professionals who spoke out against this repressing regime and to co-sponsor this legislation. Renaming the street after Dr. Li will act as a constant reminder that truth and freedom will always prevail and that the Chinese Communist Party will be held responsible for their life-threatening lies.”
