Mission Lexington announces May Impact Key Players

Lexington, SC,- Mission Lexington is excited to highlight the following as May’s Church, Board and Volunteer of the Month for their contributions to Mission Lexington:

• St. Stephens Church has been named Mission Lexington’s Church of the Month. They reached a remarkable milestone in food donations by donating over 100,000 lbs. of food since February of 2011. As of February of this year, their donations total 100,845 lbs. since February 2011. Their 2019 donations totaled 11,297 lbs. This outstanding program is led by Ronald Redd.

• Nate Gibson is our Board Member of the Month. He currently serves as treasurer for Mission Lexington, and is Executive Director for Emmaus Church in Columbia, SC. He also served as 2020 Chairman of Lexington’s Race Against Hunger, a 5K, 10K and 1-Mile Fun Run that benefits Mission Lexington’s food pantry.

• Donna Dell is our Volunteer of the Month. She has been a loyal volunteer with Mission Lexington since 2010 and has served in the food pantry, social services and on the mobile food pantry.

“We are blessed to have such amazing supporters of Mission Lexington.” said Robin W. Bowers, Executive Director of Mission Lexington. “The time and talent that is poured into our organization by the churches and individuals impacts our organization in so many unique ways.”

Mission Lexington is the hub of care for Lexington County, assisting families and individuals with life essentials, resources, and guidance. They meet over 30,000 needs in Lexington County each year, ranging from helping an elderly couple with food to funeral expenses for a child. Their partner network includes local businesses and government agencies, corporations, organizations, individuals, and more than 50 member churches who sustain their daily.
