Chapin Chamber of Commerce offers businesses discounts on PPE

Chapin, SC - As more businesses have reopened in the Chapin area, one of the common concerns the Chamber of Commerce is hearing from the community is the lack of availability of personal protective equipment, or PPE, and cleaning supplies. It has been especially difficult to purchase these items in larger quantities since the pandemic began.

Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE, includes items like masks, gloves, sanitizers, no-touch thermometers, and more. These are all being recommended by the CDC, DHEC, and the accelerateSC team that’s been advising Governor McMaster during the state’s reopening process. The Chamber’s leadership says they know that restaurants, home health providers, small offices, realtors, close contact businesses, and others will continue to need these items as the community moves forward by bringing their businesses back to a normal operating environment.

The Chapin Chamber sought and has located the necessary resources to provide to the area’s businesses with PPE. Now, they have partnered with a few other Chambers to provide high quality, low cost PPE to the business community through a distributor.

Business owners and managers can now go to the website to purchase masks (3-ply & KN95), gloves, gel or liquid sanitizers in different sizes, and thermometers. In the next week or so, disinfectant wipes will also be available. The website will continually be updated with additional supplies, options, and pricing as the situation progresses.

This website provides the option of purchasing items individually, in bulk, or in kits based upon your specific needs. The pricing on these items is generally 20% - 50% below competitor's pricing based on the quantity business orders. If you can partner with other small businesses around you and buy your PPE as a cooperative, that could help you to receive the large quantity discounts. In addition, The Chamber is providing a coupon code - Chapin Chamber - for the area’s businesses to use for a 10% discount. Right now, this code is available for any business to use.

In closing, the staff of the Chamber said they continue to seek ways to assist the community through these trying times. They hope that many will find this opportunity beneficial to their business.
