Imagine Your Story with the Lexington County Public Library Summer Reading Program

Lexington, SC - Lexington County Public Library is temporarily closed to the public. However, as we turn the page to summer, it’s time to Imagine Your Story. The annual Summer Reading Program is here, and readers of all ages are encouraged to participate. Summer reading helps build literacy and language skills, prevents the dreaded summer slide for school-aged children, allows teens and adults to experience the joy of reading and so much more.

As you make plans this summer, don’t forget to include the library. The program runs from June 1 through July 31 and features free virtual programs and events for your entire family—book talks, puppet shows, art demonstrations and more. Prizes will be awarded in August for those who complete the program.

To get started on your adventure, reserve books online and pick them up using our curbside service. You can also visit our website and download ebooks, audiobooks and magazines.

Beginning June 1, visit lexcolibrary.com/summerreading to register. Call your local branch if you need assistance. Although not required for participation, curbside grab and go bags include reading logs and fun activities and will be available for youth 18 or younger at all 10 library locations while supplies last.
