Lexington, SC - Team Blowfish 2020 will take the field on July 1st. The special-themed jerseys they will don for that game are now being revealed for the first time.
“Team Blowfish 2020 was originally set to honor baseball’s return to the Summer Olympics in 2020,” Blowfish Co-Owner Bill Shanahan stated. “However, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Team Blowfish will honor our National Pastime's return to American life!”
The jerseys, which made their original debut at the beginning of 2020, have undergone a few changes since the beginning of the pandemic. On the back of the jersey, there is now a globe with the words “One Team-One Dream” which symbolizes unity around the world.
“One Team-One Dream has been our team motto for the better part of three years,” said Shanahan. “But as a country, and world, we are now united to fight this pandemic and return to the way of life that we have known...One Team-One Dream.”
Carolina Comfort is once again the presenting sponsor for the themed jerseys. The company’s Owner/CEO Rich Mitchell said, "We are proud to continue to support our community in Lexington County through our partnership with the Blowfish," Mitchell said. "We've been partnering with the Blowfish on the special themed jerseys since the beginning and look forward to another great season in 2020."
