Lexington, SC - During the June 2, 2020 meeting, the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees approved the promotion of Cindy C. Funderburk to coordinator of preschool special education, effective July 1. Funderburk is a dedicated special educator with nine years of experience.
Funderburk joined Lexington District One in 2011 as a preschool special education teacher at Lake Murray Elementary School. Last year, she transitioned into a district-level role as elementary special services curriculum specialist where she provides specialized instruction to teachers, prescribes curriculum and instruction for students, and collaborates with special educators throughout the district.
Funderburk earned a Bachelor of Arts in education and a Master of Education in special education from Clemson University. She also earned a Master of Education in education administration from the University of South Carolina. She is currently working toward a Doctorate in Education in special education leadership from South Carolina.
