Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has now released the identity of a man that was killed in a motorcycle crash between Hollow Creek and Leesville Sunday night. This is the second death due to collisions that happened over the past weekend in Lexington County.
Fisher said the accident occurred in the 500 block of Ansel Caughman Road at approximately 11:20 P.M. on Sunday, June 7, 2020. Coroner Fisher said that Brandon Shawn Matthews, 42, of Batesburg was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries he sustained in the crash. Matthews was not wearing a helmet when his motorcycle left the right side of the roadway and he struck a tree.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
