Pine Grove, SC (Paul Kirby) – An abandoned home in the 200 block of Mac Circle was destroyed by fire late Monday night. Mac Circle runs off Old Barnwell Road in the Pine Grove area of Lexington County. The fire was reported just before midnight.
According to Harrison Cahill, spokesman for the County of Lexington, the home was fully involved when the first fire equipment arrived. Units from the Lexington County Fire Service, Lexington County’s EMS, and the sheriff’s department responded.
Cahill said that even though the structure was classified as abandoned, the fire still caused an estimated $110,000 in damages. In total, Lexington County had eight pieces of emergency equipment there with 20 of their public safety personnel on the scene.
There were no injuries as a result of this fire. Because the home was abandoned, no one was displaced. The cause of the fire is currently under Investigation.
