Springdale, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Town of Springdale’s extremely popular splash pad is open again! This is according to Mayor Michael Bishops’ last newsletter that was recently distributed.
In that newsletter Bishop stated, “We are excited to announce that the splash pad at Felton C. Benton Park will open for the season on Wednesday, June 24th, 2020 (This past Wednesday) at 10:00 a.m.” Bishop also reminded everyone that the Summer hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day (subject to change).
Mayor Bishop did say that the town encouraged everyone to use their best social distancing practices while in their park. There should also be no groups of 10 or more due to the COVID-19 precautions.
At this time in South Carolina, most government developed guidelines are just that, guidelines. Everyone should take some personal responsibility to do what is right for themselves and their family. If a park, splash pad, or any businesses’ operations or any other public situation makes you feel uncomfortable, don’t put yourself in a position that would expose you. Likewise, those who feel very comfortable moving about with little or no protection should still be cognizant of the feelings and rights of those who are taking additional extra precautions for themselves and their families.
