One man arrested on attempted murder charges, another still being sought

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested one of the men they suspect was involved in a shooting that took place at a Swansea area bar on the weekend on July 4th, 2020. According to a spokesman for the department, Jamel Dash, 33, is charged with five counts of attempted murder.

Dash’s charges stem from what the sheriff’s department described as a drive-by shooting. They say Dash and another man were partying at the bar in the Swansea area, but they eventually left. After leaving, the pair drove by in what deputies believe was a blue, late model, crew cab pickup truck. It may have been a Chevrolet. That’s when they fired shots into the bar before fleeing the scene.

Investigators still need your help identifying a man that was accompanying Dash during the crime. His photograph was caught on surveillance cameras along with Dash while they were in the bar. If you recognize the man or know where he is, you can share tips anonymously through Midlands Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME SC (274-6372).
