Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) – A Lexington County woman has been jailed after she attacked her husband during a domestic dispute in the Gaston area of Lexington County. The woman, who has not yet been publicly identified, was taken into custody Monday afternoon.
Deputies with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, emergency medical personnel from Lexington EMS, and first responders from the fire service all responded to what was initially reported as a stabbing. The call came in at approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday on Jacobs Circle in the Sharpe’s Hill area of Lexington County. Deputies arrived first and were quickly followed by the firefighters and EMS crews. As soon as deputies ensured the scene was not dangerous for the medically trained responders, they could enter and begin their job of treating anyone injured at the home.
After making their initial report, deputies conferred with their supervisor and the decision was made to place the wife under arrest. According to Captain Adam Myrick of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, she has been charged with Domestic Violence of a High and Aggregated Nature.
No report on the husband’s health has been released. His rights to privacy would prevent that without written approval. The wife will have to face a judge at a bond hearing soon.
