According to their website at www.littlemisssc.com, Little Miss & Teen Miss South Carolina is one of South Carolina’s oldest pageant systems for children and young adults. It was founded in 1971 by the late Linda Floyd in Sumter, South Carolina. It goes on to say the LMSC pageant promotes community service and academic excellence, as well as encouraging poise and positive self-esteem in our contestants. They stress good sportsmanship and age-appropriateness in hair, make-up and dress for all ages, especially the younger contestants.
In this pageant system, judges are told to judge the child, not the clothes. Dress can be plain or fancy, as long as it fits and looks nice on the contestant. They are partnered with Prisma Health Children’s Hospital and donate tens of thousands each year to that instituation.
Kennedy, Sarah and Lillie Catherine won $3,000 in scholarships, a round crown, a trophy, monogrammed banners, and other prizes! For more information, please visit the pageant website at www.littlemisssc.com.
