Lexington County Sheriff’s Department investigating shooting on Happy Town Road

Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies are on the 200 block of Happy Town Road in reference to a shooting that took place earlier on Thursday, August 27, 2020. This is between the towns of Swansea and Gaston in southern Lexington County.

Gaston officers first responded and were then followed by Lexington County deputies. When officers arrived, they found one person injured. The Lexington County Fire Service responded, and they were quickly followed by an advance life support unit and supervisor from Lexington EMS. The injured person has been transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound to an unspecified part of their body. It is not known if the person’s injuries are life-threatening.

Captain Adam Myrick of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said late Thursday, “We are not looking for any suspects or persons of interest as part of our work at the scene. No arrests have been made.”
