The Irmo Police Department is joining with MADD for "Saturation Saturday"

Irmo, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Irmo Police Department announced Thursday that they would join forces with MADD and other law enforcement agencies for “Saturation Saturday.” This is a one-day effort to flood area roads and streets with officers looking for motorists who would foolishly drive while impaired by any intoxicant.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and law enforcement's "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign have joined forces across the nation to step up their DUI enforcement on Saturday, Aug. 29. The Irmo Police Department has proudly made the decision that they will be a part of that effort.

Starting Saturday evening, the Irmo Police Department will have additional officers patrolling the town’s roads in an effort to combat motorists who are driving while impaired. There will be a ZERO Tolerance policy in place and all impaired drivers will have to face the full consequences of their actions.

If you decide to have a drink and need to go somewhere, make sure you have a designated sober driver. If you don’t, call an Uber or a cab, use a tow service that will take you and your vehicle home, or call a sober loved one or friend. The seriousness of driving under the influence can not be overstated. Just don’t do it!
