Coroner identifies victim of deadly crash near Swansea

Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher’s office released the identity of the person that died after being involved in a vehicle collision of Southbound Road at Lewis Rast Road just outside of Swansea on Saturday, August 30, 2020. The collision occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m.

According to Coroner Fisher and her staff, Antonio Demond Robinson, 37, of Norway, SC was killed after the Ford Mustang he was driving toward Columbia left the road near the Swansea Intermediate School and the Early Childhood Learning Center and struck a utility pole. Robinson was wearing a seatbelt but died at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision.

The SC Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation why Mr. Robinson lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road.
