Lexington, SC - The Lexington County Blowfish and Lexington Mayor Steve MacDougall have teamed up to present the 2020 Mayor’s Prayer Luncheon. This event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th from noon till 1:00 p.m. The doors will open at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium at 11:30 a.m. for this luncheon.
According to Bill Shanahan, co-owner of the Blowfish, the featured guest speaker this year is scheduled to be WIS TV’s award-winning Sports Director Rick Henry. Rick has been at WIS for 32 years and has covered some of the biggest events in the sports industry.

Rick is an active member of Brookland Baptist Church and will share how his faith has shaped his experiences. He will also discuss the importance of faith as he begins treatment for his recently diagnosed prostate cancer. Rick will tackle this frightening issue head-on as he chooses faith over fear.
“This luncheon is a great opportunity for all of us to gather as a community to pause, pray and reflect during a challenging time in our lives,” Mayor MacDougall said. “We look forward to another wonderful fellowship time as we hear Rick’s story of his faith and Christ’s impact in his life.”
The Blowfish are continuing to implement their successful readiness plan and safety guidelines for this event. This year’s luncheon is an outdoor event and the average forecast for late October should provide beautiful weather. “COVID has presented challenges,” Blowfish co-owner Bill Shanahan stated. “However, it has afforded us an opportunity to grow this community event and allow attendees to fellowship throughout the stadium concourse all while social distancing.”
