Lexington, SC 02/12/2024 (Paul Kirby) - A 26-year-old math teacher at White Knoll High School was arrested and charged with the criminal solicitation of a minor last Friday. This is according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD).
The department said that Timothy Garrison, 26, communicated with a 14-year-old girl last November. He did so over the dating app Bumble and also through the social media app Kik. Garrison asked her if she liked oral sex and discussed other sexual matters with her, according to the warrant.
LCSD said he engaged with her “for the purpose of or with the intent of persuading, enticing, coercing the person to engage in sexual activity.”
Authorities said Garrison was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center but was released on a $5,000 surety bond.
Lexington County School District One responded to the arrest in a statement on Monday:
“As part of a law enforcement investigation into internet crimes against minors, a teacher at White Knoll High was arrested on Friday. We have no indication that the charges are connected to any Lexington One students. The teacher has been placed on administrative leave, and district and school officials are cooperating fully with law enforcement.”
