A random act of kindness could win a case of Girl Scout Cookies

Lexington, SC 02/15/2022 - Random Act of Kindness Day is February 17. For one month, beginning on Random Act of Kindness day, through Girl Scouts 110th birthday, March 12, do something for someone else. Let’s share goodwill.

Acts of kindness have the potential to make the world a happier place. An act of kindness can boost feelings of confidence, being in control, happiness, and optimism. They may also encourage others to repeat the good deeds they've experienced themselves – contributing to a more positive community. Not only will you feel better, Girl Scouts of South Carolina—Mountains to Midlands will choose two random participants to win a case (that’s 12 boxes!) of Girl Scout Cookies. Couldn’t you use something sweet in your life?

March 12, commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization's first 18 members in Savannah, Georgia. Still today, Girl Scouts practice the slogan, “do a good turn daily.”

Random acts of kindness inspire people. Not only do the acts of kindness bring joy to the receiver, but they spread positive reactions to the giver, too! A daily good turn or a random act of kindness doesn’t have to be the same every day and it can be big or small:

· Compliment a stranger

· Hold the door open for the person behind you

· Buy someone coffee, or lunch.

· Buy food, warm clothes, and blankets for someone who needs them

· Donate old clothes to charity.

· Thank a teacher or co-worker who has made a difference in your life

· Tell someone you appreciate them

· Bring treats into work, school, or college to share with others.

· Buy Girl Scout Cookies for a service member, first responder, or hospital worker.

The long history of Girl Scouting has inspired millions of girls and women to gain courage, confidence, and character, while making the world a better place, often through random acts of kindness.

Share your act of kindness with us at Random Acts of Kindness (wufoo.com). We will share your story on social media pages:

Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Let’s ALL pitch in to make the world a better place.
