Adopt-A-Highway & Street cleanup to be held this weekend

Lexington County, SC (05/11/2021 Paul Kirby) – Keep the Midlands Beautiful announced Monday that they have scheduled and Adopt-A-Highway and Adopt-A-Street Cleanup for this coming weekend. Volunteers from across the Midlands will be alongside the highways, roads, and streets removing litter that careless people have either discarded or allowed to blow out of their vehicle while they drive.

According to their statement, these cleanups will begin Friday, May 14th and continue through Sunday, May 16th. Each may be scheduled at different times throughout those days. The size of the groups will depend on the size of the adopting agency, civic organization, or other sponsors.


Keep the Midlands Beautiful’s organizers ask that motorist who see the volunteers working in the orange safety vest alongside the roads to please slow down and give them some additional room. They are all working to make the Midlands a much better place to be.
