Airport High School’s marching band receives holiday surprise

West Columbia, SC 12/21/2022 - Members of Airport High School’s marching band received a holiday surprise Wednesday. Tim James, president and CEO of the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber & Visitors Programs, stopped by the school to present band members with The Christmas Carol Award for Best Musical Unit for their performance during the recent Greater Cayce-West Columbia Holiday Parade of Lights. Airport’s band was selected by a panel of judges at the event.

“To be recognized for this award means to us that the community has recognized all the hard work we have put into making music, and they appreciate our effort to support such a wonderful community,” Airport band director Bob Spitler said. “We want to continue to work hard for our school district and community and make them proud.”
