Lexington, SC 07/09/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Chief Terrence Green of the Lexington Police Department said Friday afternoon that an arrest has been made in the recent shooting, now being called a homicide, that happened during the last weekend of June on Freedom Drive in Lexington.
According to Chief Green, Jabin Elliotte Trapp, age 49 of Lexington, was arrested in the death of Parrish Scott Phillips, age 49 of Chapin. Phillips was shot multiple times on the afternoon of June 27, 2021.
When officers were dispatched and they arrived at the scene of the shooting, they found the victim deceased and laying in the backyard with several gunshots to the upper body. During the investigation it was found that Jabin Trapp and the victim had been involved in an argument that ended when Jabin Trapp shot the victim.
Jabin Trapp has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. He is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
