Attention all horseback riders, join the “All Horses Parade” in South Congaree this July

South Congaree, SC 06/21/2022 (Paul Kirby) – Attention all horseback riders everywhere! The morning of the Saturday, July 23rd performance of the 2022 South Congaree Championship Rodeo, you can choose to ride in a parade that includes nothing but horseback riders! That’s correct cowboys and cowgirls. Except for the police cruiser clearing the traffic up front, this is an “All Horses Parade”.

The South Congaree Championship Rodeo is scheduled for July 22nd and 23rd at the South Congaree Equestrian Arena at 395 Oak Street in West Columbia, SC. The rodeo will be held in the evenings as it has been in the past. However, if you have a horse and can ride, you can come to the arena at 9:00 a.m. Saturday with your horse and tack. There is plenty of room for trailer parking so that won’t be an issue. At 10:00 a.m., all the horses and riders will mount up and parade down Oak Street to Ramblin Road. There the parade will take a left and continue out to Main Street where the riders will turn right. Everyone will then proceed down Main and turn right at the CITGO on Pine Street. From here, they’ll circle back around to the arena again.

This ought to be loads of fun! You can see old friends and make new ones too. There should be plenty of beautiful horses to see as well. Spectators can line the routes and you can bet all the little buckaroos will be thrilled.

Rance Woodley, the producer of the South Congaree Championship Rodeo said Monday that he hopes more than 100 riders show up for this event. “The more the merrier,” he said. “We always like to put on a good show in South Congaree and this parade should make the show the best ever.”

Remember, there’s no entry fee or form. Just remember to bring proof of negative Coggins and of course your horse. For more information about the South Carolina Championship Rodeo, check out their website at southcongareerodeo.com.
