Batesburg-Leesville, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Batesburg-Leesville Police Department is asking the public to look at some photographs in hopes they may recognize a woman or a vehicle. They believe she was recently involved in a shoplifting incident at the Wal-Mart.
Officers say that they believe this woman, who appears to be a Caucasian, went into Walmart, selected items off the shelves, and then left the store without paying for them. She was wearing a face covering but has it pulled down below her nose. It looks like a red bandana or some sort of kerchief.
After taking the items from the store, the woman went outside into the parking lot and got into a small, convertible car or SUV. That was also caught on surveillance video. People who are familiar with automobiles say that it is either an old Geo Tracker or a Suzuki Sidekick. There aren't too many of these on the road anymore. This one appears to be missing a hub cover on the right rear wheel.
If you have any information that can help officers identify this woman, please call the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department at (803) 532-4408.
