Batesburg-Leesville Police Department officers to participate in No Shave November

Batesburg-Leesville, S.C. 11/03/2021 (Paul Kirby) – The Batesburg-Leesville Police Department will be participating in No-Shave November this year. No Shave November is an annual event where participants receive donations from sponsors while they do not shave for the entire month. All money raised goes to the American Cancer Society.

According to Captain Connie Billings of the Batesburg-Leesville PD, “If you see our officers around town looking a little more “hairy” than normal, just know it is for a good cause.”

The No-Shave November organization was founded in 2009 and has raised over $10 million dollars for cancer awareness and cancer prevention since its inception.

Batesburg-Leesville’s Police Chief W. Wallace Oswald stated that, “Cancer is a very serious health concern, and our officers are excited to participate in this event to raise money for the American Cancer Society.”
