Lexington, SC 07/15/2021 (Paul Kirby) - The Lexington County Blowfish baseball team will host Veterans’ Night this Saturday, July 17, 2021. Veterans of any branch of the US military will get a complimentary ticket while their family members may purchase tickets at the gate or on-line to enjoy the game and the special tribute to their veterans alongside them.
The game begins at 7:05 p.m. at The Lex, the stadium that’s home to the Blowfish on Ballpark Road in Lexington. Its official name is The Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
According to the LCRAC’s website, the ballpark is a state-of-the-art facility with seating for over 3,000 spectators. It provides fans with a pleasant and intimate ballpark experience. It features an expanded concourse and bowl seating around 1st and 3rd base. It also has Wrigley Field Style Box seats, lawn seating in the outfield, and an air-conditioned hospitality club.
According to Commander David F. Mills, Jr. of SC American Legion District 20, the Legion is encouraging other veterans and family members to help get all homebound and shut-in veterans to the game. Mills said recently, “It's about veterans. Let's pack the stadium!”
The American Legion Riders will be at the game Saturday for a very special opening ceremony. It promises to be a great show and any night at the baseball park is a good night.
