Body found in St. Andrews motel had been there two or three weeks

Lexington, SC 08/16/2023 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said Wednesday that a body found on August 14, 2023, shortly after 7:00 p.m. in a room of the Motel 6 on Burning Tree Drive in Lexington County had been there for two or three weeks. That motel has been closed permanently since March 1st of 2023.
Fisher said in a statement that the body was a male who remains unidentified at this time. He was found in the bathroom of one of the rooms in the motel. The age and race of the male are unable to be identified due to the condition that the body was found in. The man was wearing jogging type pants, a blue t-shirt, and blue or black Adidas athletic shoes.
An autopsy is being performed at MUSC today at 11:30 a.m.
