UPDATE: Man who was wanted in teen’s homicide booked into Lexington Co Detention Center

Lexington, SC – 04/30/2021 (Paul Kirby) - Treveon Jamar Nelson, 18, the man who is one of a pair accused of kidnapping and killing 15-year-old Sanaa Amenhotep, has been arrested and booked into the Lexington County Detention Center according to the LCSD's website. This was confirmed by the LCSD's spokesman about 8:30 p.m. Friday. He and 17-year-old Jaylon Shyir Wilson are accused of kidnapping Amenhotep. She was kidnapped from her Richland County home on April 5th of this year. So far, Wilson has just been charged for his part in the abduction.


Amenhotep’s body was located in the Gilbert/Batesburg-Leesville area of Lexington County Thursday. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said Friday that the young lady died of multiple gunshot wounds and has ruled her death a homicide.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has said that Nelson is being charged with homicide.


Nelson and Wilson, who was already being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, kidnapped Anenhotep in Richland County. Corner Fisher said Friday that it has been determined that Amenhotep was murdered here in Lexington County. It remains to be seen if Wilson's will also be charged with homicide.
