Brookland-Cayce High’s football team receives numerous honors

West Columbia, SC 12/06/2021 - Brookland-Cayce High’s football team has been recognized with a number of individual and team honors.
The Bearcats finished as Region 5 AAA Champions and went three deep in the SCHSL playoff rounds before a narrow defeat to Camden.
Among team and individual honors:
Owen Plane: Selected to play in the 2021 Shrine Bowl and North-South game
Skylar King: Named Region 5 AAA Offensive Player of the Year, selected to play in North-South game
Tanner Staton: Named Region 5 AAA Player of the Year
Rusty Charpia: Named Region 5 AAA Coach of the Year
Region 5 AAA All-Region Team members: Jahmari Kennerly, Isiah Simpkins, Jadyn Johnson, Evan Sloan, Ian Myers, De'shaun Washington, Naahzeikial Mays, Jacory Jones, Owen Plane, Kamden Sox
