Sandy Run, SC 11/21/2022 (Paul Kirby) – The ladies at Calvary Methodist Church, just south of Swansea on Calvary Church Road, will be holding a traditional Nativity Exhibition for Christmas. It will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2022, and Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the church located at 1130 Calvary Church Road, Swansea. This is a display of Christmas Nativity Scenes from around the world. This is much like an art exhibit. It provides each viewer an opportunity to take away their visit special memories of how each of the scenes made that individual viewer feel.
In the notice announcing this event, a church’s spokesperson said that according to the gospel of St. Luke, “people hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in a manger.” In Calvary’s presentation, they invite people to pause during the hurry-scurry season of Advent and while making their preparations for Christmas. Instead, the women of Calvary UMC invite you to find Mary and Joseph and the baby Jesus with them.
The members of the church, led by Pastor Donna Lollis, are putting on this presentation. The Saturday performance will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, the event will begin at 3:00 and conclude at 6:00 p.m. This should afford everyone a great opportunity to come and view these beautiful works of art.
Admission is free for these events. Santa’s Gift Shop will also be open for holiday shopping, and hot cocoa will be available. All Children must be accompanied by an adult.
