Cayce, SC 11/03/2021 (Paul Kirby) – In the race for the City of Cayce’s Council District 1, incumbent Tim James handily held off challenger Karen Dawkins to retain the seat. James was just finishing his first full-term on the council.
Dawkins is a feisty community activist that worked hard during the election but was unable to overcome James’ popularity and record of service. There were 362 cast in that race Tuesday and Dawkins received just 94 of those. This was almost 26% of the total ballots marked.
James received a whopping 266 votes which equaled approximately 73.5% of the total votes. He will return to the council for another 4-year term.
