Cayce investigators narrow their search for vehicle in hit & run

Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) - Investigators with the Cayce Department of Public Safety said Wednesday afternoon that they had narrowed their search in a hit and run investigation. Tuesday evening, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Airport Boulevard and I-26 in the city. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the incident without rendering aid or calling for help.

According to First Sgt. Evan Antley, spokesman for the department, they now believe the car they are searching for may be a 2013-2018 model metallic blue Ford Fusion. They said on Tuesday that the car should have damage to its right headlight and may have damage to that right fender, its bumper, or hood.

Antley said that they are still actively working to identify the vehicle and driver involved in the hit and run. They are asking anyone with information regarding this to contact Lt. Jason Merrill at the Cayce Department of Public Safety by calling (803) 794-0456. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can do so by contacting CRIME STOPPERS at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
