Cayce Police Department assist Sumter County Sheriff’s Office with investigation into man arrested for Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor

Cayce, SC 03/31/2025 (Paul Kirby) – Last week, Ronald Burell Chestnut, 27, of Bridge Street in St. Matthews, SC was arrested by Sumter County deputies and charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor. This happened after an investigation by the Cayce, SC Police Department who was assisted by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Department.

After being advised that there were warrants for his arrest, Chestnut voluntarily surrendered himself to investigators at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and was arrested on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Since that time, Chestnut was transported to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and was given a $15,000 surety bond.
