Cayce police investigators charge 7 in Abbott Arms murder and other related crimes at the complex

Cayce, SC 01/11/2024 (Paul Kirby) – Investigators with the Cayce Police Department have charged 7 people with various crimes related to the December 11, 2023, murder that occurred at the Abbott Arms Apartments in the city. A spokesperson for the department released details of what took place, the names of the adult suspects, and what they were charged with on Wednesday of this week.

On the night of December 11, officers with the Cayce Police Department responded to Abbott Arms in regards to shots being fired. When they arrived, witnesses reported that they had heard loud arguing before gunshots rang out. Many of the witnesses said they saw a dark car speed away from the scene after they heard the shots.

According to the investigators, on the night of December 11, they believe that 4 suspects planned to rob 19-year-old Travis Fuller of his money and drugs. Those 4 conspirators were Joshua Sanchez, Idrees Scott, Jasmine Golson and a juvenile. Investigators say that during the robbery, Fuller was shot. He was driven to Lexington Medical Center by a 15-year-old juvenile in a blue Chevrolet Camero. A short time later, Fuller was pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of the gunshot wound. Investigators found blood in the Camero, They had it towed for processing from LMC to a lockup area at the Cayce Police Department. During the processing, investigators found a 9 mm handgun, spent shell casings, and drugs in the car.

During the same period of time, a second male juvenile showed up at Prisma Health Hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was hospitalized for an extended period, and then released from the hospital to recover from his injuries at home. It was later determined that this juvenile’s shooting was connected to the planned robbery at Abbott Arms and that he was involved in the robbery and was shot during that incident. They now believe that he was a member of the group that shot Fuller during the robbery.

While investigators were beginning their investigation on December 11th, officers with Cayce’s Patrol Division stopped a black pickup that had left and then was returning to Abbott Arms. After a search of the occupants of this truck and the vehicle, officers arrested London Spires, age 19, Davion Carson, 19, and a 17-year-old juvenile that were in that truck. They were each charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotics and Unlawful Carry of a Firearm.

The suspects involved in the conspiracy that end in Fuller’s death were:

Joshua Sanchez, age 18, who has been charged with Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.

A 17-year-old Juvenile who has also been charged with Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery, and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.

Idrees Xavier Scott, age 24, who has been charged with conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery and Accessory to Murder After the Fact.

Jasmine Kiara Golson, age 24, who has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery and Accessory to Murder After the Fact.

A Cayce Police Department spokesperson says that their department greatly appreciate the support and assistance of the Lexington County Sheriff Department, Richland County Sheriff Department, United States Marshals Service, and the 11th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office who helped make these arrests.

Cayce Police Department leaders say that believe that they now believe that some of the individuals involved in this incident may have been involved in a shooting that took place on November 25, 2023, on Lucas Street in the City of Cayce. They are asking anyone that has additional information in either of these incidents to contact the Cayce Police Department at 803-794-0456 or 888-CRIMESC.
