UPDATE: Cayce police officers find vulnerable adult who walked away from care facility

Cayce, SC 05/05/2022 (Paul Kirby) – Police from the Cayce Police Department have found an elderly man who walked away from a care facility just before noon today. They say that 81-year-old Lonnie Cheeks was last seen around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022. He was reportedly found shortly after 5:00 p.m. and was being assessed by medical personnel.

Cheeks is a resident of the Twilite Manor care facility which is located at 2306 Forrest Road in Cayce. The Cayce Police Department was contacted at 2:00 p.m. when someone from the Twilite Manor staff drove to police headquarters to make the report. The gap between the time Cheeks disappeared and the time he was reported missing to the police has not been publicly explained.
