Cayce, SC 01/04/2022 (Paul Kirby) – The City of Cayce has decided to reschedule its Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 meeting in order to plan for and make provisions for the public to participate during the latest surge of COVID-19 cases. According to a release sent Tuesday around 3 p.m., the meeting will be held on January 11th, 2022 instead.
In a release sent by City Spokesperson Ashley Hunter, she wrote, “Our staff and elected officials have received requests from our citizens about providing a virtual option so that they can attend and participate in tonight’s (Jan 4th) Council meeting safely. We would like to accommodate all of our citizens; especially given the recent increase in COVID-19 cases. Your safety, and your voice, matter to us. Our recent meetings have been heavily attended with standing room only and we want ensure that participation continues to be enabled.”
Hunter continued, “Thus, and with time to ensure our citizenry know of the change, the Cayce City Council meeting for this evening has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 11 at 6:00pm. via Zoom. A link to participate in the meeting will be sent to media, will be posted on our Cayce website at caycesc.gov and will be put on our City Facebook and Instagram social media sites.”
