Cayce, SC 11/03/2021 (Paul Kirby) – There was an upset in the Cayce City Council Race for District 3 Tuesday. Incumbent Anna-Bailey Robinson was defeated by newcomer Hunter Sox. Sox not only defeated Bailey-Robinson, but he did so handily. Voters apparently had grown tired of Bailey-Robison services because she actually garnered the least amount of the total votes cast in a three-way race for the seat. She was one of the newest councilmembers to serve.
In the end, a total of 219 voters trekked to the polls to cast their ballots. When all were tabulated, Sox received a total of 117 or just over 53% of the votes to Bailey-Robinson’s 41 or almost 19%. A third candidate, J. Kelly Wuest also outpolled Bailey-Robinson gathering 61 of the votes cast. Her votes equaled almost 28% of the ballots marked in this race.
