Community Council having voter registration event today in Swansea

Swansea, SC 06/14/2021 (Paul Kirby) – The Greater Swansea Community Council is holding a Voter Registration Drive to help people get prepared to vote in future elections. Registration is easy and voting gives all citizens a voice in what’s happening in their community, town, county, or state.
Today’s event will take place at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Swansea. That is located at 505 South Church Street in Swansea, SC. It will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will continue as long as people are still coming.
The only requirement to be able to cast your ballot in upcoming elections is that you register. To do that you must:
· Be a United States citizen.
· Be at least eighteen years old on or before the next election.
· Be a resident of South Carolina in the county and precinct in which you are registering.
· Not be under a court order declaring you mentally incompetent.
· Not be confined in any public prison resulting from a conviction of a crime.
· Have never been convicted of a felony or offense against the election laws OR if previously convicted, have served the entire sentence, including probation or parole, or have received a pardon for the conviction.
