Coroner Fisher announces the details of the Old Cherokee Road Vehicle Fatality

Lexington, SC 09/08/2925 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher announced over the weekend that I person died in a fatal two-vehicle collision on Saturday night. The collision happened in the 1200 block of Old Cherokee Road in the Lexington area shortly before 11:00 PM.
According to Coroner Fisher, Steven Chase Liebler, 36, of Lexington was traveling eastbound on Old Cherokee Road when he lost control of his vehicle and dropped off the left the right side of the roadway He then over corrected, crossed the center line, and struck a vehicle head on that was traveling westbound. Liebler, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
