Lexington, SC 05/09/2022 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has now released the name of the man that died in a single-vehicle accident in the 1500 block of Jessamine Road after 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Fisher said that he was Daniel Peppers, 55, of West Columbia.
According to fisher and the SCHP, Peppers was traveling south toward Augusta Road on Jessamine Road when the pickup he was driving dropped off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. Peppers, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained. A passenger in the vehicle, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
