Coroner Fisher identifies elderly man who died in West Columbia house fire Monday morning

Lexington, SC 03/01/2022 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the individual who died as a result of a structure fire early Monday morning. According to Coroner Fisher, the fatal fire occurred in the 700 block of Westside Drive in the City of West Columbia shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022.

According to Coroner Fisher, Arthur Holladay, 67, of West Columbia was pulled from the fire by firefighters where he was handed over to medical personnel from Lexington County EMS. That crew transported him to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead due to injuries he sustained in the fire.


The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division as well as the West Columbia Police Department.
