Coroner Fisher identifies the victim of the Chapin Bojangles homicide

Lexington, SC 02/03/2022 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the person who was shot at the Bojangles restaurant on Columbia Avenue in Chapin, SC on Wednesday afternoon. According to Fisher, William McArthur Hicks Jr., 21, of Neeses, SC was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Chapin police officers have arrested Warren Bruce Rumph Jr. in this shooting. They have now charged him with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.


The Chapin Police Department continues to investigate the incident with the assistance of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the SC State Law Enforcement Division.
