Coroner Fisher identifies victim of Chapin Road head-on collision

Lexington, SC 0728.2021 (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher released the identity of the person who died after being involved in a head-on collision near Chapin Monday afternoon. That collision occurred in the 700 block of Chapin Road close to Boland’s Hardware at approximately 5:00 p.m. on July 26, 2021.

According to Coroner Fisher, Sarah L. Patino, 54, of Chapin, was travelling toward Irmo on Chapin Road, when another vehicle, travelling toward Chapin, crossed the center line and struck her head on. Patino was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries. The other driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision s being investigated by the SCHP.
