Lexington, SC 09/10/2024 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the man who died in a house fire west of Pelion Monday. The fire destroyed a mobile home in the 1200 block of Charles Town Road shortly after noon on September 9, 2024.

According to Coroner Fisher, Craig Raymond Kustermann, 54, of Leesville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Even though that area is much closer to Pelion, the homeowners have a Leesville mailing address. An autopsy is scheduled for September 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at MUSC in Charleston.

The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
