Lexington, SC 08/24/2021 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the man who was killed over the weekend in a two-vehicle collision in Lexington County. According to Fisher, the collision happened on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at approximately 3:00 a.m. It occurred on US 321 south near Phaeton Drive in Gaston.
Fisher said that Robert Adams Jr., 40, of Columbia was driving a Lincoln SUV travelling south on US 321. A tractor-trailer that was also travelling south slowed to make a turn into a parking area. Adams was unable to stop and struck the back of the tractor-trailer. He died at the scene due to the injuries he sustained in the accident.
The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
