Lexington, SC 05/25/2023 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the woman who died in a single-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon. This crash happened at approximately 4:45 p.m. near the 112-mile marker of I-26 in the westbound lanes.

According to Coroner Fisher and the SCHP, Victoria Ryan Johnson, 50, of West Columbia was traveling westbound on I-26 when her Hyundai Elantra dropped off the right shoulder off the road, she overcorrected, crossed all lanes of traffic without striking any other vehicle, went off the left side of the road, and then struck the median concrete barrier. Johnson, who was alone in the car at the time and not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries she sustained in the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
