Coroner Fisher identifies young man killed in Chapin area crash Friday afternoon

Lexington, SC 10/07/2024 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the young man who died in a single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon. This collision happened in the 500 block of Chapin Road near the Town of Chapin at approximately 2:45 P.M. on October 4, 2024.

According to Coroner Fisher, Kaleb Isaiah Parrish, 23, of Chapin was traveling westbound toward Newberry County on Chapin Road when he lost control of his vehicle, left the right side of the roadway, and struck a tree. Parrish, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
