Coroner Fisher’s office identifies victim of traffic collision on US Hwy. 378

Lexington, SC - 01/27/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher’s office has released the name of the man that was killed in a traffic collision on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. According to Mrs. Fisher and the SC Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at about 6:30 PM near the Twin Bridges community and the intersection of US Hwy 378 and Shorty Road.

Fisher said that Michael Wayne Harrison, 75, of Gilbert was pronounced dead at the scene following the wreck. He had turned out of a private driveway onto Hwy. 378 and into the path of a Dodge van. The van struck him on the driver’s side of the Chevrolet Corvette he was driving at the time. Fisher said that Harrison was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.


Both the driver and the passenger of the van that struck Harrison’s car were injured. Fisher said their injuries were non-life threatening.
