Lexington, SC 06/15/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margert Fisher has released the identity of the man who was found fatally shot on Groover Circle in the City of Cayce early Monday morning. According to Coroner Fisher, Jose L. Gonzalez, 42, was pronounced deceased at the scene due to a single gunshot wound.
Officers with the Cayce Department of Public Safety were called to the scene shortly before 3:30 a.m. when someone dialed 911 to report an unconscious person in a vehicle. When the officers arrived, they found Gonzalez deceased.
An investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division and Cayce Department of Public Safety is ongoing.
