Coroner Margaret Fisher releases the cause of death for the young woman who was found late last week along I-20

Lexington, SC 02/06/2024 (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher released the results of an autopsy on the young woman who was found dead along the shoulder of I-20 Westbound at MM-62 on Friday, February 2, 2024.

 

Coroner Fisher had previously identified the deceased as Miss Stephanie Chanel Quintana, 22, of Columbia. She was found dead on the shoulder of I-20 by a passerby last Friday at approximately 07:15 A.M.  Her autopsy was completed on February 5, 2024, at 08:30 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. 

 


The results of the autopsy found that Quintana died of blunt force trauma resulting from being struck by a vehicle. This happened sometime after approximately 12:30 a.m. on February 2, 2024.  The vehicle that struck Miss Quintana has not been identified at this time.  Any further information will be released by the South Carolina Highway Patrol as they continue to investigate this case.
