Councilwoman Doris Simmons running for Mayor of Swansea

Swansea, SC 95/12/2025 - Doris Simmons, District 4, incumbent Town Council Member is officially running for Mayor of Swansea in the upcoming November election, Simmons announced today.
Ms. Simmons, who has been serving on the Town Council since 2019, released the following statement:
“Hello Swansea residents. My name is Doris Simmons and I am honored to declare myself a candidate for the Office of Mayor of The Town of Swansea. I am truly excited to have the opportunity to lead our Town into the future, to encourage and support growth, and to make Swansea a true destination point here on the rural end of Lexington County.
As a sitting Council Member, and a previous Lexington School District Four Board Member, I know how to navigate the political landscape to get things done. As a long-time resident and business owner in Swansea, I know we have a lot of work to do and I also know it won’t happen overnight. But with your support and collective cooperation we can, once again, make Swansea a great place to live, work, and play.
I am looking forward to bringing EVERYONE together for this great and common purpose. I hope I can count on your support throughout the campaign and on Election Day. God Bless all of you and our wonderful Town.”
Doris lives in and owns a business in Swansea, She is married to Harry Simmons, Jr, with five children and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
